Are you wondering who to trust and how to get accurate and up to date information about exercise for your pregnancy? Do you feel a bit lost in knowing where to start to regain your fitness after birth? Then you have come to the right place! Let us help you find the right instructor so you can be assured you are in safe and professional hands. All Guild members are fully qualified pregnancy and postnatal exercise instructors who keep their knowledge regularly updated. Often, like you they are parents and can understand your concerns and can help guide you back on track to exercising safely. Exercise classes can also be a great way to meet other mums in similar situations to you. We are all in this together!
Do you want to stand out from the crowd and be counted amongst the best? Then you’re in the right place! The Guild is passionate about supporting people who – just like you – wish to take their career to the next level, gain support from their peers and be part of a community.
Welcome to The Guild of Pregnancy and Postnatal Exercise Instructors
The Guild is an organisation that started on Sunday 31st January 1999 with a view to supporting both mums and exercise instructors. It was formally constituted as a non-profit making organisation, with co-chairpersons Gillian Fletcher and Marion Grant, Treasurer David Fletcher, Membership Secretary Sally King, and Hon. Secretary Meg Walker. It is thanks to our founding members that the Guild was able to support many mums before the amount of resources we now have on the internet was even available.
Today we still continue to offer that support and aim to dispel myths around pregnancy and postnatal exercise. We want to get across positive, accurate messages to both professionals and mums alike based on evidence based research. Over the years we have continued to support our members by keeping them informed of the latest developments in the field.
We offer professional advice and support to exercise instructors so they can confidently meet the needs of women who are exercising during pregnancy and after birth. We aim to install confidence in mums so they can be safe in the knowledge that their instructor is fully qualified and also up to date with their Continuing Professional Development.
If you have any questions about membership, study day, webinar details or information regarding qualified pregnancy and postnatal fitness professionals in your area, please do get in touch.
With warmest wishes,
Chair: Rachel Rafiefar
