A study day with a Women’s Health Physio that is real value for money!
This was my second study day with The Guild and I had been really looking forward to it since it was first advertised. I wasn’t disappointed – it was a fantastic day well spent with Kathryn Peden, Womens Health Physio from Arcadia Physiotherapy. Kathryn was a well rehearsed, easy-to-listen-to presenter who easily coped with many questions being asked throughout the whole day on this most interesting and relevant topic! In the first part of the day we learnt all about the types of prolapse, types of pessaries available & how to use them.
The second half of the day was more practical and we were able to learn about and try the hypopressive technique – very new in the UK but fast gaining attention – believed to be a real solution for prolapses, abdominal hernia’s and Diastasis Recti. This was a really good session and has led me to investigate my own training in this area. This was followed by a second practical session all about what exercises to use and how to modify when teaching people with prolapses or Diastasis Recti. Overall the day could have been longer as there was so much content and all participants went home happy and full of new knowledge that we had not only learnt from Kathryn but from each other too.
This course has proved so popular that there are 2 further dates coming up in May – see events for further details.
